Philippe May, Director of the Swiss Ski School Verbier, is also an elite athlete.
Philippe manages to balance his days of work during which he directs the school and more than 280 instructors, with his love for sports and outdoor activities.
As director of the largest ski school in Verbier, one of the best resorts according to freeriders, he is implicated in all off-piste activities and their potential dangers. It is the reason for his contribution and his implication very early on in the ISTA project.
As a competition speed skier, Philippe’s career has brought him to participate in 127 races and land on the podium 62 times. His record for speed on skis reaches 250km/h, making him the world’s 5th fastest man on skis.
Philippe does not limit himself to mountains only; he has the intention to participate in the next Race Across America, a continuous bicycle race of 4800km across the United States.
